:: SchnippSchnapp Luebeck ::

As I mentioned a couple of posts back, I went to the SchnippSchnapp fair here in Luebeck.

It was very interesting seeing so many like-minded people.

There was a very small quilt exhibition and a couple of workshops (not very interesting) but as I was mainly interested in the stalls there, that was OK.
We found many interesting fabrics there but didn't buy any because they were terribly expensive. I was very surprised to find that one seller even offered Japanese craft books, most of them on patchworking / quilting.

My two little helpers and I spread some Dawanda love (buttons and postcards) and we hope to find some of the sellers on Dawanda soon.

:: sock frog ::

I finished another little something for the christmas fair in Niebuell, my first sock frog.

The elephant is still waiting for his second ear, then it will also be ready to be sold.

Last weekend I also embellished a couple of calendars, I'm quite pleased with the final result. They are for sale on DaWanda.

:: standard time ::

this weekend we switched to standard time - so it was time for a new wall clock!

I got a cheap clock, some buttons and fabric and here it is. I got the idea from a book. I don't remember which one and only remember that the clock was embellished with fabric and buttons.
I am so, so pleased - every time I look at it, the cheeriness makes me very happy! Maybe I will make some more for the shop as well.

:: time for socks ::

... the days are getting shorter - and colder - and it's time for socks again.

It's been a while since I made sock animals, so the other day I bought some striped socks for the monkey above. His name is Mr Svensson.

It takes a lot of time but it's also very satisfying to sew everything by hand.

And here is a wip - you can probably guess what it's going to be ;-)

:: SchnippSchnapp ::

That's the name of a crafts fair that will be held in Luebeck Oct. 17-19. You can find more information here.

I understand that there will be quite a lot of workshops and crafters there. I really look forward to going there! I will definitely take my camera to show some pix afterwards!

:: little linen sailing boats ::

I found some old linen in my stash and made some sailing boats, very simple but cute even if I say so myself.

I also made a little cosmetics bag from a fabric that looks like the one that was used ages ago to make mattresses, I like the look a lot! It will be available on Dawanda soon!

no, the curtains

aren't ready yet although the weather is awful
and I do have enough time...
I wish there were little fairies who came at night
and made them for me ;-)

Well, I spent it sewing a couple more bags for the

and in the morning we made an apple cake - really easy:

just mix the dough (125g butter, 125g sugar, 3-4 eggs,
200g flour, 2tsp baking powder),
put it into a greased pan.

Find someone to peel 4-6 apples for you, cut them into quarters
and put them on top of the dough,
sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon - we use a lot of cinnamon!

Bake approx 45 min. at 180° C. Relish the smell!
Remove from oven and let it cool,
whip some cream if you like and enjoy!
